New academic year: the capital’s transport system is ready for high load

🔺 Tomorrow, September 2, the 2026/2027 academic year begins in general education schools. In this regard, an increase in the flow of pedestrians and vehicles is expected on the streets of Tashkent, especially around educational institutions.

🚸 Before the new academic year, the Road Traffic Organization Center carried out work aimed at increasing safety around schools. “Zebra” crossings at pedestrian crosswalks were renewed, traffic light facilities underwent technical inspection, and their operating modes were adjusted.

🚌 In the capital, more than 24 thousand scheduled trips are carried out daily on 170 bus routes. While the average number of bus schedules was 1,622 during the summer season, from the new academic year they will be increased to 1,707.

🚇 On the metro, the interval between trains will also be reduced during peak hours: 1.5–2 minutes on the Chilanzar line, 3–3.5 minutes on the Uzbekistan line, 4–4.5 minutes on the Yunusabad line, and 7–8 minutes on the surface ring line. Of the 14 new trains scheduled for delivery this year, 11 are already operating on the lines, and another 3 are expected to be put into operation.

❗️ Dear drivers and parents!

Reduce speed near schools and give way to children at pedestrian crossings. Do not occupy bus stops, do not stop in front of educational institutions or on pedestrian paths in a way that obstructs traffic, and do not enter the special lanes designated for public transport.

🚍 Use public transport whenever possible. This will help reduce the load on the streets, ensure the stable movement of public transport, and prevent congestion around schools.

Let’s start the new academic year with order, attention, and mutual respect on the roads.
