Issues of Bringing Geographical Object Names into Compliance with Legal Requirements Discussed in Uchtepa District
👍 A working meeting was held in Uchtepa District to discuss the alignment of the names of existing and newly established residential areas and other geographical objects with the requirements of national legislation.
⚡️ The meeting was organized to ensure the implementation of Resolution No. 475 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Law "On the Names of Geographical Objects."
⛈ The meeting was attended by A. Roʻzitoyev, Adviser to the Mayor of Tashkent on Spiritual Development and the State Language; A. Djabbarov, Head of the Toponymy Division of the Digital Development Department under the Tashkent City Administration; O. Rakhmonberdiyev, Deputy Mayor of Uchtepa District; chairpersons of mahallas; and representatives of relevant government agencies.
📍During the meeting, participants discussed:
- regulating geographical object names in accordance with the requirements of the National Classifier;
- establishing the State Register of Geographical Object Names;
- ensuring strict compliance with historical, national, and linguistic standards when assigning names to new residential areas.
🔘 It was also emphasized that the legal standardization of geographical object names is an important factor for territorial digitalization, postal services, navigation systems, and improving the quality of public services.
🌐 At the conclusion of the meeting, mahalla chairpersons were instructed to conduct an inventory of geographical object names within their territories, eliminate identified shortcomings, and bring all names into compliance with legislative requirements.
